Further up into the mountains is the former capital, Luang Prabang |
The Nam Khan and Mekong both merge at the north east end of town |
It's very picturesque and looks very French. Here are 2 classic cars, a Merc and an old Citroen from the 40's, I think |
Lots of temples too, which the local monks have be trainned to maintain to a very high standard |
The views are stunning, once again |
We went to see Kouang Si Waterfall. Attached to it is a sanctuary for bears |
The waterfalls look so perfect, they don't look real |
I've never seen anything like them. They are in a steps, so if you got bored of one pool, just walk uphill a few feet to find another |
Some of the pools you could swim in |
Locals took picnics and spent the day there with the family |
There are so many levels and as we went early, a lot were deserted |
As you got further up, the size of the drops increased |
Until the monster one at the very top |
Which you couldn't swim in, incase something fell from the top |
You could climb to the top of the waterfall |
And could wade through the pools up there |
We then went into the mountains where it was good viewing |
And the roads were deserted |
Hard to see on this picture, but you could see for miles, and it wasn't even that clear |
The bike that got us there lacked power in my opinion, but it was still fun |
Wish we had more roads like this, back home |
